
The school education department in Tiruch has instructed all government and help schools in the district to make instructions to improve the safety of girls in school premises.
Instructions were issued to create an understanding between all parties involved, including students and parents, on the need for a common creation of a safe and safe school environment for holistic development of children.
According to the Directive, all teachers have to undergo training on the protection of girls’ children and preventing sexual crimes up to six months. The sessions will then take place every six months.
The department orders the installation of CCTV cameras in classes, corridors, entrances, playgrounds, parking lots, etc. Schools must install complaints in places that are not under the supervision of CCTV to allow anonymous reports and boxes should be checked every day.
Awareness of the initiative should be performed regularly, especially during the Monday Assembly, and a teacher should be appointed. Banners should be maintained in school areas. Important helpline numbers such as Childline – 1098 and School Education – 14417 must be displayed.
Only women should be employed in vehicles carrying girls. Women should accompany them during sports events, cultural programs, educational tours and camps. Only they can stay with them. Women’s teachers should be present in all laboratories and libraries.
In the hostels, supervision of girls is limited to justified guards of women and the entry of outsiders is forbidden. Wardens should supervise the maintenance of the hostel performed by outsiders. Only women should be employed for cleaning girls.
At coeduction schools, at least 50% of women must be a woman and only women should be employed in girls’ schools. The school management should strictly follow these instructions and report crimes against girls and children.
