Cyberabad SHE Teams nabbed 24 persons for indecent acts in public places

24 persons were caught allegedly indulging in indecent acts in public places during 145 baiting operations conducted by Cyberabad SHE Teams in a week, while the teams also received 31 complaints from women.

The operations were carried out between 12 and 18 September. The police registered 18 minor cases against those caught and provided counselling.

In the same period, the Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued five victims and arrested 10 persons in three cases booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

Meanwhile, efforts through family counseling centers and CDEW centers have helped reunite 35 families following marital disputes, police said.

SHE and AHTU teams also conducted awareness programs across Cyberabad reaching around 3,668 people. Apart from emergency services and helplines, the seminars covered human and child trafficking, harassment of women, stalking, social media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labour, begging, cyberbullying and cyber fraud.

As part of awareness, SHE teams along with Cyberabad Society Security Council (SCSC) conducted awareness and self defense training camps for women on September 16 at Knowledge City and Mindspace IT Park in HITEC City.

The sessions for female employees focused on safety, legal rights, digital security, emergency response and practical self-defense techniques.
