Five BSF personnel were injured after a vehicle overturned on the Jammu-Srinagar highway

At least five Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured after a vehicle carrying them overturned in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Saturday (September 19, 2026), police said.

The BSF vehicle was part of a Jammu-bound convoy and the accident took place near Chamba-Seri along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, police added.

A rescue operation was started immediately and the injured personnel were taken to the hospital. They were identified as sub-inspector Ghar Singh, driver Shamim Ahmed and constables Sunil Kumar, Parshtum Kumar and Chandan Yadhav.

The driver, a resident of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, is serious, police said.
