No support for any party in parliamentary poll: PMK

PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss on Friday said his party will not support any alliance in the upcoming Madurantakam (SC) and Dharapuram (SC) assembly elections. “I would like to inform you that after consultations with the PMK state officials and district officials that make up the two constituencies, it has been decided not to support any party,” he said in a statement. The party’s decision comes at a time when the PMK and the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam have shown closeness on several occasions since the May 4 election results. While PMK Chairperson Sowmiya Anbumani and Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss met Water Resources Minister and TVK General Secretary, N Anand to discuss various water projects, PWD Minister was also seen with Dr. Anbuman. Arjuna. The announcement is seen as a blow to the AIADMK’s prospects, especially in the Madurantakam seat, in which the PMK is said to have a strong support base.
