CMC starts demolition of 50 square yard tilting four storied building at Gopanapally to ensure public safety and prevent hazards

As reports of cracks in a four-storey building in Gopanapally starting to tilt spread online on Friday evening, officials of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation inspected the building and issued a life-threatening warning as a result.

“After an inspection, the building was found to be in a dangerous condition. As an immediate safety precaution, residents were evacuated and the area around the building was restricted to avoid any risk to residents and the public,” said a statement issued by the civic association.

The building at NTR Colony, Gopanpally is a four storied structure which is said to have been built on a 50 square yard plot without any obstructions.

CMC has initiated the demolition of the dangerous structure as a precautionary measure to protect human life and property. Meanwhile, the civic body has asked citizens not to approach or enter the building.

“The CMC will have zero tolerance for unauthorized and illegal constructions that pose a threat to public safety,” said a statement issued by the CMC, which has been carrying out a number of demolitions of dangerous buildings and structures in the area under its jurisdiction.
