Yoga guru Madhava Murthy called for simple, consistent changes to daily routines and emphasized that healthy lifestyle information is only useful if it is put into practice.

As part of the 148th anniversary celebrations of The Hindu Group, which celebrates September 20 as its Foundation Day or ‘Values Day’, the group organized a lecture on ‘Health and Wellness’ by Mr. Murthy, founder of Divine Yoga.

Drawing a parallel between the human body and products that come with instructions for use, Mr. Murthy said that the body also needs basic care and discipline. He advised employees to get about eight hours of proper sleep, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly.

Mr. Murthy also emphasized the role of work attitude in managing stress and fatigue. According to him, the joy of work could reduce the feeling of fatigue. He gave the example of a mother who works round the clock for her family with love and care.

He highlighted yoga as a form of physical activity that can be practiced by people of all ages, from children to the elderly. He also spoke about Indian traditions of respecting trees, animals, rivers and nature, saying they reflect values of inclusiveness and respect for all forms of life.

He urged the participants to preserve the values handed down by previous generations and pass them on. While health and wellness information is widely available today, he said, the real benefit lies in putting it into practice in everyday life.

Senior DGM-Printing, PVS Giridhar Rao thanked Mr. Murthy for the address and thanked him with a reminder.
