The digital digital luggage cabinet was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Katado station so that passengers can safely maintain their luggage.
Southern Railway officials said a new, self -service facility is aimed at improving passenger equipment. “The new device is a proof proof system.
Digital cabinets are secure, accessible only via the phone number using OTP and monitored by CCTV supervision. In addition, only digital payments are accepted and creates a reliable track of user data that prevents illegal activities.
There are a number of packages that suit different storage needs from small boxes to an extremely large cabinet. Prices start at 20 GBP for a small box for four hours and rise up to 170 GBP for an extraordinary box for 24 hours.
Similar digital cabinets were installed at Villupupuram and Tiruchi Junction.
There are plans to install similar devices at other stations, such as Thanjavur, Madurai, Ramesware and Tiruvannamei, the railway officials said.
