UGNEET: Second round seat cancellation allowed till 20th September

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has allowed candidates with allotted seats in the second round of medical and dental admissions to cancel their seats subject to certain conditions.

KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna said candidates who have been allotted seats through the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) or in other states can leave the KEA counseling till 5pm on September 20 without paying any penalty.

However, candidates who have not been allotted a seat through MCC counseling and want to cancel the seat allotted in this round have to visit the KEA office in person and pay a fine of ₹10,000. These candidates will also be allowed to participate in the third round of seat allocation if they so wish.

Medical candidates who cancel their seats after the last date for submission of options for the third round but before the last date for submission of options for the stray vacancy round will have to pay a penalty of ₹ 1.10 lakh. Dental candidates will have to pay ₹60,000. These candidates will not be allowed to participate in further rounds of counselling.

Candidates who cancel their seats after the last date for submission of options for the stray vacancy round or after the stray vacancy round will have to pay a penalty of ₹ 1.10 lakh along with the annual course fee. Additionally, they will be barred from participating in UG counseling for the next three years.
