
In the middle of tensions after the terrorist attack Pahalgam, the TELANGANA Police warned citizens against false gifts on social media, which claimed to be for Indian funds or battleships.
Police said cyber fraudsters use public feelings by sharing false appeals to WhatsApp, telegram, Facebook and other platforms, and urge people to donate the invented campaigns of “good army living conditions”. These messages often come with links to fake websites or bank data that falsely claim to collect funds for families of fallen soldiers or for the modernization of the army.
“Any Indian can contribute any amount according to their own choice. It starts from 1 and is unlimited. This money will be used to buy weapons for the military and paramilitary forces,” he read “transmitted” by a shared police.
“Your money will be stored directly in the military army and war victims of the Ministry of Defense. It will be useful for military equipment and military staff,” she read.
TELANGANA officials have not yet been reported in the state in the state. “Such reports have floated across social media platforms, and citizens are warned not to fall into this trap,” said an official from the Cyber Security Office (TGCSB).
The police explained that there was no official initiative to raise funds. Since public emotions are underway and support for the armed forces that grow on social media, fraudsters share fake websites and links to collect gifts under the guise of patriotic causes and use national feelings. Citizens were advised to verify any such appeal using official sources and immediately report suspicious links or messages.
