The Tamil Government plans to reduce the interest rate for late payment of real estate tax arrears in city local bodies throughout the state.
The draft Act on the Amendment of the Local Bodies of Tamil Nadu from 1998 was submitted on Monday by the Minister of the City Administration of KN Nezru. It seeks to store interest at 0.5%if the property has remained unpaid after the financial year is completed.
