CM, Guv, Ponnam condoles that Sangareddy is drowning

HYDERABAD

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed deep shock over the death of six students who had gone to immerse idols of Lord Ganesha at Peddakanjarla village in Patancheru, Sangareddy district.

He expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister directed the district administration to provide all possible help and support to the bereaved families.

He also directed officials to take adequate precautions during the process of Ganesha immersion to prevent such incidents.

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla also expressed deep anguish and grief over the tragic death. He prayed to give them strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.

The Governor appealed to the devotees, organizers and public to exercise utmost caution and strictly observe safety measures during Ganesh processions and idol immersions. He urged people to avoid entering deep or unfamiliar bodies of water and to ensure that children and young people do not enter dangerous areas while diving.

He also called on organizers and local authorities to ensure adequate safety measures, including proper surveillance, lighting, barricades and the availability of emergency and rescue services at immersion sites.

Meanwhile, BC Minister for Transport and Social Affairs Ponnam Prabhakar expressed deep shock over the death. The minister said he was deeply disturbed by the death. He expressed his sincere condolences to the families who lost their children in this tragic event.

Mr. Prabhakar spoke to the District Collector and the District Superintendent of Police (SP) over phone to get details of the incident. He asked about rescue operations and the circumstances of the tragedy.

The minister also directed the officials to identify the dangerous deep water zones in the submergence areas and take necessary security measures to prevent the public from accessing them. He further directed the authorities to ensure the availability of trained swimmers and rescuers at such places.

He appealed to parents to keep a close eye on their children during Ganesh immersion events and ensure that they do not venture near ponds, canals or other water bodies.
