MoU signed for Toyota BizIntel Hub at KWIN City with an investment of ₹1,200 crore

As part of the first major investment in Bengal’s KWIN City, Toyota Kirloskar Motor will set up its global standard BizIntel Hub. KWIN City is being developed by the state government between Dobbspet and Doddaballapur with an investment of ₹1,200 crore.

The agreement was signed by Department of Industries Principal Secretary S. Selvakumar and Toyota COO and Director of Special Projects Sudeep Dalvi on Monday (May 25). Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil were present.

The Chief Minister announced that it will be a first of its kind facility in the world.

Mr Patil said the company would invest ₹1,200 crore as seed capital in the next five years and create around 200 jobs. Toyota will be allotted about 300 acres of land for the project. There will be vehicle production, testing activities and the establishment of a modern car manufacturing plant.

He further said that innovation, healthcare and information technology will be given top priority in KWIN City. Seven to eight globally recognized universities, health institutions and research organizations have already expressed interest in investing there and agreements with them would also be concluded as soon as possible.

The city will be developed in phases over an area of ​​5,800 acres, with the first phase of development already underway. Mr. Patil said the overall project is expected to attract investments worth ₹ 48,000 crore and create nearly one million jobs.

Industries Commissioner Khushboo Goel, Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board CEO Govind Reddy, Toyota Technical Director Yoshinori Noritake, senior officials G. Shankar and Vikram Gulati, Vice President Ramesh Rao, General Manager HJ Kiran and other officials were present.
