Nakkeeran journalist arrested for defamatory video against YouTuber’s wife

The Adambakkam police on Wednesday (September 16, 2026) arrested 58-year-old journalist Damodharan Prakash from Nakkeeran on charges of posting a defamatory video on social media against a 38-year-old YouTuber.

In a press release, the police said Prakash posted a defamatory and defamatory video against a woman working for a YouTube channel who is a resident of Adambakkam in January this year. Based on a complaint filed by a woman, the Adambakkam police filed a case invoking sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Information Technology (IT) Act and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women (TNPHW) Act.
