IMA Haryana withdraws call for suspension of Ayushman Bharat services

The Haryana unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Tuesday withdrew its call for indefinite suspension of Ajushman Bharat services from September 16 after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini assured the delegation that he would look into the problems faced by empaneled private hospitals.

Private hospitals under the scheme in Haryana suspended services to beneficiaries for 24 hours on September 1 due to outstanding payments of around ₹ 1,200 crore and other operational issues.

A delegation of IMA Haryana met Mr. Saini and Bharatiya Janata Party chief Archana Gupta on Monday and raised several issues, including what they described as mismanagement in the implementation of the scheme. According to the association, the chief minister said steps would be taken to reduce addiction.

The association said it wants to work closely with the State Health Agency and the Haryana Health Protection Authority to address implementation issues and ensure care for beneficiaries.
