Sub-inspector M. Parashuram with a lot of bribe.
The Anticorruption Office (ACB) imprisoned and arrested a sub-inspector from the Shamirpet police station, while on Monday he received a bribe of 22,000 ₹. ACB said it was an additional amount for 2 lakh, which it accepted earlier.
Official release from the Bureau said on Monday around 1.45 hours, the sub-in-inspector M. Parashuram was charged after demanding and accepted 22,000 GBP from the complainant. “The bribe was reportedly sought for the exclusion of the complainant and his worker from cheating at the Shamirpet police station and for the refund of the complainant’s mobile phone,” she said.
The investigation revealed that the officer had previously accepted 2 lakh from the same complainant. Rubs have been received from the officer after his own acceptance.
M. Parashuram has been arrested and will be made in front of the main special judge for SPE and ACB in Nampally, Hyderabad. The case remains the subject of the investigation.
Citizens are invited to report any demand for bribes by civil servants by calling a free number 1064 ACB. Complaints can also be made via WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB) and X, formerly Twitter (@telanganaacb). The complainants’ identity will be maintained confidential.
