A year after it started, it is close to completing the reconstruction at the Truvannamei railway station, the British era. Main works such as Floor, LED Street Lights, Shelters for Dommaters on the Platforms were completed.
Railway officials said that restoration work was carried out after many years under the project of remediation of the station, which aims to provide better equipment for passengers with airport elements. They include separate drive and departure corridors, clear LED lighting, trouble -free access to platforms via escalators, lifts and Skywalks and a rain water collection system.
The whole work is done at the price of CRORE 8.27 GBP from the southern railway. “As soon as the work is completed in the coming weeks, the station will attract more commuting,” said S. Ellumalai, head of the station (SRM) of the station.
Currently, they said that railway officials said 65 LED street lighting on the platform was installed on two and three platforms. The tiled floor of these two platforms, where most of the explicit trains from Villupuram were completed after the Tirupati section. Each platform measures on average 496 meters long. 32 granite benches were re -fixed on these platforms.
Seven wide shelters on these platforms are also installed as well. Each hiding place is 16 meters long and can accommodate at least 50 people at a time. Benches were also provided in these shelters. “A sufficient number of wheelchairs for commuting disabilities should be required at the renovated station. More long -distance trains should also be operated, especially for pilgrimage centers,” said K. Vanaja, commuting.
The ticket area, which is around 2,200 square feet, is also reconstructed at the entrance to the railway station by granite floors, LED lights and digital information boards on the timing of the train. Washing rooms were also built, including those for commuting disabilities, purified drinking water system and solar panels.
Currently, work on landscaping, painting, reserved parking lots for efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians in exclusive lanes.

The station manages around 15 trains a day, especially express and passenger trains and serve over 8,000 passengers across its three platforms.
Most commuting are pilgrims to the Tirupati and Arunchalaeswarar temple.
