Theft reported at Keralam MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s under-construction house; police discharge probe

The Pothanikad police in Kerala’s Ernakulam district have launched an investigation into an alleged theft at the property of Congress leader and Muvattupuzha MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan.
The police on Monday registered a case on a complaint that electrical wires worth ₹50,000 were allegedly stolen from Mr. Kuzhalnadan’s under-construction house in Paingottoor.
According to the FIR, the alleged theft took place around 6.30 pm on Sunday.
The police have registered a case for alleged housebreaking and theft in the respective sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Several cases of theft of electrical appliances at workplaces have been reported in the district in recent months. Two weeks ago, the Kunnathunad police arrested two men from Assam for allegedly stealing copper wires worth ₹25,000 from a newly constructed house in Mazhuvannur.
