Ifran Mohammad, an engineering student, has been creating a buzz on social media ever since he secured ₹4.5 lakh per month internship at Revolut UAE. A B Tech student who studies information technology at the National Institute of Technology Dr. BR Ambedkar in Jalandhar, was selected for the role of iOS developer and made remarkable career progress after missing out on an Apple internship.
A software engineer named Vikas recounted Ifran’s journey to Revolut via a post on X. He describes how a third-year engineering student cracked the most sought-after internship and paid ₹9 lakh in two months, he said, “He (Irfan) joined a private university called SRM University Chennai for his B Tech in CS and left after the first year. After that he cleared JEE and joined NIT Jalandhar.”
According to Ifran’s LinkedIn profile, he completed his schooling from GEMS Education in 2022 with an impressive percentile score of 93.4% in CBSE exams. The following year, he joined SRM Institute, only to leave a year later for NIT Jalandhar. Vikas further mentioned that Irfan went through an Apple internship in his second year but could not realize his dream of joining a major tech giant for work experience due to his short attendance.
“He did an Apple internship in his second year, an opportunity right in Bali, Indonesia. But due to the strict 75% attendance in Indian colleges, he couldn’t join,” the post added. Irfan continued to work on his career goals despite missing out on a big opportunity.
Irfan describes himself as a public speaker as his profile states: “I am also a public speaker who has lectured on several prestigious platforms like TEDx. A passionate cyclist with the achievement of cycling across the country.” Irfan claimed in his latest LinkedIn post that he was invited to speak at the Am I Tech Enough Community Happy Hour at the DIFC Fintech Hive.
According to Vikas, the opportunity opened the door after Iran received a referral from a well-known person at Revolut. Finally, the technician was shortlisted and selected in the company.
