Nellore Ganesh Ghat is ready for idol immersion ceremony, says Anam

Endowment Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the idol immersion ceremony at Ganesh Ghat in Nellore as part of the Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations.

The minister was speaking to the media on Sunday after a coordination meeting with district officials and members of the Vikrama Simhapuri Ganesh Seva Samithi on the festival. Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and TDP official spokesperson Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy and others were also present in the meeting.

The minister hoped that on the last day of the festival, when the idols would be brought for immersion in the waters, a spiritual atmosphere would prevail at the ghat.

Referring to the temporary infrastructure arranged in the water body, Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy said that a permanent Ganesh Ghat would be constructed soon. He also offered to inform Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and local MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy about it to get necessary permissions and financial support.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sridhar Reddy announced that work on the permanent Ganesh Ghat will begin within a fortnight after the immersion ceremony. He also thanked Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister Ponguru Narayan for his efforts in securing funds for the project.

The meeting also decided to invite Vedic scholars to offer ‘Ganga Harathi’ to the water body on September 18.
