Jannik Sinner said he did not expect easy matches from a three -month -old doping ban. The Italian star was not on tour since the Australian Open victory at the beginning of this year and is ready for its return in the upcoming Roman masters.
In February 23 -year -old sinner adopted a ban on the world’s anti -doping agency (WADA) After testing the positive to the prohibited Cletebol substance last year. He began to practice 13th April and his suspension ends on 4 May.
Sinner said he put in hard courts before participating in the French Open to return smoothly.
“We are training very hard. Hopefully we will get again in front of the clay season. It will certainly not be easy for me,” said Sinner transmitter ORF Sudtirol.
“The first games will be really difficult. But hopefully I will be able to go back to the rhythm, and then we will see how it goes,” Sinner said.
Sinner was previously in danger of losing the highest rating, etc. After his defeat Matteo Berrettini, however, retained his place as world 1 after Alexander Zverev came from Monte Carlo Masters.
“I have to get to know each other better”
Sinner recently trained with world No. 6 Jack Draper in the tennis club De Beaulieu in France. World No. 1 said that digestion of time together with his family maintained him in good shape before his return.
“I think it was pretty nice at the beginning of the three months. I spent a little time from all the grind with my family, with friends. I did new things and got to know myself better, found where I was standing. I think it helped me a lot,” Sinner added.
The ATP 1000 Masters in Rome is scheduled to start on April 7, three days after the end of the Sinner ban.
