Government employee dies in hit and run on NH-44

A 57-year-old government employee died after an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit his scooter from behind on NH-44 in Shamshabad on Friday (September 11) morning.

Syed Zaheeruddin Ahmed, an employee of the Women and Child Welfare Department in Shadnagar, was traveling to work on his Ola scooter (TS 11 EZ 0038) when the accident occurred between 11:30 am and 11:40 am.

According to the police, Mr. Ahmed was traveling near Agarwal Estate, about 200 meters from Old Madanpally Thanda, when his scooter was hit by an unidentified vehicle approaching from behind at high speed.

The impact threw Mr Ahmed onto the road and he suffered severe bleeding injuries to his head and other parts of his body. He died at the scene.

Shamshabad police reached the spot after being alerted and shifted the body for autopsy. A case has been registered and investigations are on to identify the vehicle and its driver.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to locate the vehicle involved in the accident.
