
The person who reportedly cheated on the woman and fled with 48.50 GBP with a promising gold cheaper rate was arrested on Friday by the police.
Police director Kurnool J. Babu Prasad said the arrested person, R. Nagesh aka Nagereddy, came from Colona Vijayanagar in Hayathnagar of Telangana. He lured a woman from Sanathnagar in Hyderabad, Santoshamm to give him £ 60, with whom he would buy one kg of gold and sell it for 90 lakh, making it a 30 lakh.
Mrs. Santoshamma believed in his words and gave Nagereddy 48.50 Lakh, which she got from the sale of her house. Nagereddy was brought by Mrs. Santoshamma and her husband to the curnol in a rented car and fled with money after leaving Sai Baba in the city.
After a complaint filed on April 21, the police launched Kurnool II hunting to blame. They arrested Nagereddy in Hyderabad and received 45.91 ₹ Lakh.
Police manager Vikrant Patel warned people against the fall of prey to persons who promise gold at a cheaper rate.
