An MSF student leader was “attacked” by a gang in Chavakkad

A student leader of the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) was allegedly assaulted by a group of men who came in an SUV and attacked him in Chavakkad on Saturday (September 12, 2026).

The victim, 21-year-old Shanauf Sharafudheen, a resident of Anchangadi in Kadappuram, was walking on the road near Palayur Church around 12.30 pm when the incident took place.

According to Mr. Sharafudheen, the group detained him and repeatedly beat him after forcing him to the ground. They allegedly tried to force him into their SUV. He said the attackers appeared drunk and tried to run him over, but he got away. The attackers allegedly also took his mobile phone.

Mr. Sharafudheen is undergoing treatment.

The Chavakkad police have registered a case and started investigation into the incident.
