Describing the Congress government under Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in its first 100 days as one marked by chaos and confusion, the opposition BJP questioned the logic of holding celebrations on the occasion.

Leader of Opposition R. Ashok said at a press conference in Bengaluru on Friday that though the Chief Minister has completed 100 days in office, barely three days have been spent on the development of the state due to the confusion engulfing the dispensation. He alleged that the Chief Minister was running from temple to temple and was unable to resolve the confusion.

Alleging that the Chief Minister came across the farmers as a “real estate agent”, he said, “Apart from trying to take away portions of land from Lalbagh, Sankey Tank, Hebbal Lake, 9,000 acres in Bidadi and 3,000 acres in Anekal, the Chief Minister has done nothing for the development of the state.”

He claimed that the celebrations were held to mark 100 days even though the chief minister “failed in every test”.

He claimed that after the Congress government came to power, more than 2,500 farmers committed suicide and 12 people died due to potholes in Bengaluru. “It costs ₹ 1 lakh to close the pothole, of which 75% goes into the pockets of Congress leaders. There was a plan to give 5% of the park land for real estate development. The government even called industrialist Gautam Adani and was ready to hand over the parks, but later turned 100 degrees after public opposition. He ordered water sharing on the Cauvery, Karnataka reportedly suffered the release of water.

“Congress is now renaming the schemes introduced during BJP’s tenure. During our dispensation, title deeds were given to one million people. Now they have renamed it Land Rights. During BJP’s tenure, tractors were provided to farmers for ploughing. Now they have got that new name too. Sakala services have been renamed as Praja Seve and coffee is not open there. But even tea and coffee department has not been opened there.
