Pakistani Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem rejected the invitation of the Indian javelins Star Neera Chopra to the NC Classic Event competition in Bengalur 24 and quoted the planning conflict with his training for Asian athletic championships in Korea and expressed gratitude for invitation.
“The classic event (NC) has been from May 20 (May 24), while I have to go to Korea 22 May at the Asian Athletic Championship,” he quoted over the PTI.
He mentioned above that he concentrated his training effort on the Asian Championship, which is to be held in Gumi, Korea from 27 to 31 May.
Chopra previously asked over the participation in the inauguration event. “We invited an invitation to Arshad and said they would return to me after the discussion with my coach. From now on, the participation has to confirm,” Chopra told reporters on Monday’s virtual media interaction.
Both athletes recently faced 2024 Paris games, where they secured gold over the Olympic record of 92.97 m, while Chopra earned silver with 89.45 m.
Neera Chopra inauguration classic attracted several international stars. Grenada Anderson Peters, double world champion and German Thomas Rohler, Olympic Golden Medalist 2016, confirmed their participation.

The event will also include Kenyan Julius Yego, who won silver at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 at the 2015 World Championship. American Curtis Thompson, which currently leads the season to throw 87.76 m, will also compete.
World athletics granted the status of category A.
