AMMA series: Neena Kurup confirms filing complaint against Tiny Tom

Internal unrest in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) continued to play out in the open on Sunday with actress Neena Kurup, a member of the forum’s executive committee, confirming that she had filed a complaint against fellow actor Tiny Tom. Details of the complaint against Mr Tom emerged a day after actress Ansiba Hassan accused him of character assassination and making communal remarks.

According to Ms. Kurup, she filed a complaint against Mr. Tom with AMMA management on May 12. She accused him of “repeated verbal abuse and attempted physical assault.”

“I filed a complaint based on an incident that took place on February 13, a day before a family meeting organized by AMMA. I strongly believe that the association will take up the complaint and justice will be served. At least the matter will be investigated,” she said.

Mr. Tom has not yet responded to the allegations. On Saturday, he denied claims by Ms Hassan that he had accused her of attempting a religious conversion and spread rumors about her personal life.

Reacting to a number of issues involving AMMA, including the latest allegations, its president Shwetha Menon reportedly said that the general body scheduled for next month will discuss all matters.
