Silk Weaves Expo brings India’s handloom heritage to Vijayawada

A celebration of India’s handloom heritage is underway in Vijayawada as the ‘Silk Weaves Expo – Festive & Wedding Edition 2026’ draws handloom enthusiasts and festive shoppers to the A-Plus Convention Center at Benz Circle.

The six-day exhibition, which takes place from September 8 to 13, is open to visitors from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It features an extensive collection of sarees, kurtis, clothing materials, jewelery and accessories.

The Expo brings together handwoven creations from several parts of the country. Visitors can view Uppada, Bhagalpuri, Banarasi and Tussar silks, along with Kantha, Dhakai Jamdani, Muslin, Baluchari, Tangail, linen and other varieties.

Offerings in ikat, gitcha silk and double-weave cottons provide relatively affordable options, while designer silk sarees will satisfy those looking for sophisticated formal and wedding wear.

The exhibition also showcases Lucknow chikankari, Rajasthani Dabu prints, Gujarat Patola and a range of apparel materials and running fabrics. Colorful saree borders, embellished blouse pieces and other accessories enhance the shopping experience.

With discounts offered across multiple product categories, the exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to explore the richness and variety of Indian textiles under one roof. “This special edition of Ganesh Chaturthi will end on September 13. We want people to make the most of this opportunity,” the organizers said.
