DDCA breaks silence on India-Afghanistan 1st T20I after BRICS summit raises security concerns in Delhi

India-Afghanistan 1st T20I gets DDCA support (ANI Photo) The first T20I between India and Afghanistan in New Delhi will go ahead as scheduled on September 13 despite concerns over security measures in the national capital during the BRICS summit.The match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium has come under a cloud of uncertainty after the Delhi Police sought a change in the program due to security requirements for the high-profile summit. However, the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) said on Thursday evening that the date of the match would not be changed.“India-Afghanistan 1st T20I on September 13 at Arun Jaitley Stadium will go ahead as scheduled. After meeting with Delhi Traffic Police, DDCA has been assured of all necessary support and arrangements,” the association said in a social media post.

All the three T20Is will be played in Delhi

The Afghanistan-India series will consist of three T20Is, with all the matches to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The series will run from September 13th to September 17th.India vs Afghanistan T20I schedule:

  • 1st T20I: September 13, 19:00 IST – New Delhi
  • 2nd T20I: September 15, 19:00 IST – New Delhi
  • 3rd T20I: September 17, 19:00 IST – New Delhi
