TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao has warned the party cadre not to fall prey to fake social media accounts run on behalf of NDA leaders allegedly by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) with the intention of creating a rift between the Alliance parties.
In a statement on Thursday, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP have formed an alliance (NDA) to accelerate the development of the state and ensure the welfare of the weaker and marginalized sections.
“Unable to tolerate the growing public support for the coalition government, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party leaders are resorting to conspiracy to create differences between the alliance partners,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.
Fake social media accounts were created in the names of NDA leaders and workers and were used to post personal attacks and offensive comments against leaders of other alliance parties. “The aim of such a campaign is to create mistrust between the TDP, Jana Sena and the BJP and thereby weaken the unity of the alliance,” he said, urging TDP cadres not to fall victim to such provocations and advising them to bring the fake account cases to the notice of the party leadership.
The TDP state chief urged the party cadre to take the developmental and social initiatives being implemented by the central and state governments to the people at large. He urged the workers to counter the misinformation spread by YSRCP with facts and evidence.
“If the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP cadres work in coordination, no force can hinder the progress of the state,” he said, advising party workers to exercise restraint, avoid personal attacks and avoid unnecessary controversies on social media while working to strengthen the alliance.
