England 453/10 in 89.0 Overs | ENG vs PAK 3rd Test Live Score: England pile on Pakistan’s misery, extend lead past 300 with two wickets still in hand

ENG vs PAK Live: England will go into Day 2 of the third Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston in a commanding position, holding a 156/4 lead in the first 23 innings after a dramatic 14-wicket opening day.

Pakistan were bowled out for just 133 in 33.5 overs. Josh Tongue led England’s attack with 4/42, while Ollie Robinson claimed 3/15 to take his 100th Test wicket and Jofra Archer added 3/25. Saud Shakeel’s 43 was the only substantial resistance from Pakistan.

England then made the most of the favorable batting conditions and debutant Emilio Gay scored a composed 60. Joe Root was dismissed for just eight by Pakistan debutant Razaullah, who impressed with his raw pace and ended the day with 2/42. However, Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 52, with Dan Lawrence on 5.

Brook holds the key

England’s immediate aim will be to increase their lead quickly on the second morning. Brook’s attacking streak could put Pakistan under immense pressure if they continue their unbeaten half-century.

A lead approaching 150-200 runs would present Pakistan with an uphill task on a pitch that offered considerable help to the Mariners on Day 1.

Great hope of Razaullah Pakistan

Pakistan’s biggest positive from the opening day was the performance of 21-year-old debutant Razaullah. His pace, which reached 90mph, troubled England’s batsmen and earned him the prized wicket of Root.

Pakistan will need him to step in early along with Mohammad Abbas and the rest of the attack to prevent England from building an overwhelming lead.
