The Telangana government has raised the upper age limit for direct recruitment to constables and equivalent posts in the police, fire, jails and special protection forces departments by another three years.

The relief, issued by government order dated September 9, 2026, is in addition to the seven-year relief already granted by earlier orders in May and August.

The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board said the additional relaxation will be applicable to the recruitment notifications issued on July 29 for SCT PC (Civil) and equivalent posts and SCT PC (Mechanical). The relaxation does not apply to the post of SCT PC (Driver) in the Police Department.

Apply by September 16 at 5 p.m

Candidates who become eligible under the revised age criteria have been asked to submit their applications online through the Recruitment Board website by September 16 by 5:00 PM.

The board advised eligible candidates to submit their applications on time and warned that those who wait till the last day may face heavy online traffic, delayed responses or failure to submit their application.

The age relaxation follows the government’s decision to provide another opportunity to candidates who have crossed the earlier prescribed upper age limit for notified posts.
