Suriya’s next is ‘Scene’ directed by Jithu Madhavan; title trailer out

Scene is the title of Tamil superstar Suriya’s upcoming film with Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, the makers announced on Wednesday (September 9) with the title trailer. The film, which is also produced by Suriya, will hit theaters on November 6 for Deepavali.

The trailer features Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, a fear-inducing cop whose very entry hints at the Suriya that Jithu wishes to bring to the screen. “In the name of talent, guys, you keep burying his nasty side,” someone tells us as Inbaraj arrives in his jeep. We are later shown glimpses of how Inbaraj manages his prison. “To you, I may be the only police officer who managed to arrest you. But to me, you’re just one of the thousands of scum I put in jail,” he says. In a surprise reveal, we also see Suriya in a young, dashing look as he performs in the rain.

The cast of Scene also includes Nazriya Nazim, Naslen, John Vijay and Anandraj. Popular YouTuber Rajpriyan also plays his role in the film. Details of the plot remain unknown.

Jithu’s frequent collaborator, Sushin Shyam, composes the music for Scene. The cinematographer is Vineeth Augustian, the production designer is Ashwini Kale and the editor is Ajmal Sabu. Chethan D’Souza serves as stunt choreographer. Suriya and Jyotika are producing Scene under their Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment banners.

Meanwhile, Suriya was last seen in Venky Atluri’s Vishwanath & Sons starring Mamita Baiju. After Scene, the actor will be seen in Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel’s next, produced by Hombale Films.

Jithu Madhavan turned heads with his blockbuster Romancham. The director followed it up with the widely acclaimed blockbuster Aavesham starring Fahadh Faasil, which grossed over ₹150 crore at the box office. Jithu also scripted Manjummel Boys director Chidambaram’s last film, Balan: The Boy.
