Amma Virk’s father dismisses Kannada rumors about his son, says family is safe and has no quarrel with anyone | Today’s news
A vehicle associated with a Punjabi concert tour has come under fire in a drive-by shooting in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada, sparking conflicting claims about whether artist Ammy Virk was among the targets.
The artist’s family has denied reports suggesting he was caught in the act of shooting. According to NDTV, Virk’s father Kuljit Singh said the singer and his family are safe. He clarified that his son had not been shot at and claimed that the attack was aimed at a convoy belonging to the organizers of the show, the report said.
Singh, speaking from Lohar Majra village in Patiala, said he had no disputes or conflicts with anyone, as reported by Hindustan Times.
However, initial reports from Canadian media and other sources indicated that Virk was traveling in the bulletproof vehicle that was the target along with the promoter of the show. The promoter’s father owns a Surrey-based Punjabi radio station, which has reportedly been the target of a similar shooting earlier.
