The Indian weighted festivals and public observance calendar is controlled after the LinkedIn contribution by Ravikumar Tummalacharly, the CEO of Cleanroom Comtenments, and at the beginning of this week it is viral. The headline starting with “too many holidays, no work that moves!”, Post criticized the number of holidays in April 2025 – more than 10, its number – and their perceived impact on work efficiency and economic dynamics.
“Although we deeply respect the cultural and spiritual richness of India,” Tummalachal wrote, “the overload of public and optional holidays in combination with weekends often stops work … Most offices relate to any movement of ensembles.”

Labeling of the government, such as @pmindia, @Mygovindia and the Ministry of Labor, the CEO called for a re -evaluation of the Indian holiday structure, warned that this will affect MS, critical sectors and international credibility.
He also argued: “China is 60 years in advance because it favors economic dynamics,” he adds that many Indians migrate abroad in finding “smoother systems and faster processes”.
The post quickly triggered a flood of comments and reactions, mostly in opposition.
One user challenged the argument by binding the structure of the holidays to greater system problems:
“We are only a holiday. The Indians have not been well paid since the last decade. Inflation is around 6%and we have a 2-3%trip. If you want more working days, employ more people with low salaries-what makes this industry anyway. We have a large number of human resources.
Another person had a problem comparing with China:
“It is unfair to compare India and China without considering their different social and political contexts. We need a solution that works for the unique needs of India. Rather than seeing a holiday as an obstacle, we should explore how they are better to minimize disturbances of work.”

The third respondent sharply criticized thinking for the original post:
“With all respect, this contribution reflects a deeply defective understanding of what really controls productivity and sustainable economic growth. Admission holidays are not a burden – they are the right. They are the only time when many people become their families and restore their mental health.
The Indian holiday calendar is one of the most diverse in the world and reflects its multi-religious multilingual population. In April alone, regional and public holidays such as RAM Navami, Baisakhi, Ambedkar Jayanti, Eid and Mahavir Jayanti appeared on calendars in addition to regular weekends.

Supporters of the existing structure claim that these breaks are vital for maintaining cultural identity, family life and mental health of employees. However, some argue that the uncoordinated cluster of holidays leads to administrative paralysis and lost economic potential.
