Commuters traveling through Mumbai’s central business district should brace for significant delays during the evening rush hour on Wednesday in view of the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026.
The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a cautionary warning against slow vehicular movement through the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and adjacent thoroughfares due to heavy VIP movement and high expected turnout of attendees.
Held from September 8 to 11 at the Jio World Convention Centre, this year’s edition of the 4-day event is themed “Impact Potential: Agentic AI, Tokenization, Quantum – Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance.”

Transport authorities have warned motorists that the flow of vehicles will be particularly slow between 4pm and 8pm, a window that coincides with the evening commuter peak and the celebratory VIP delegations visiting the venue.
“Due to the higher number of vehicles arriving at BKC for the Global Fintech event, there is a possibility that traffic at BKC will continue at a slow pace. Vehicle drivers should use alternative routes,” the Mumbai Traffic Police said in a statement posted on the X social media platform.

To avoid severe congestion around the BKC inner connectors, the transport department has advised daily motorists and passing commercial vehicles to opt for alternative detours:

Employees, executives and attendees heading directly to office buildings in BKC have been advised by the police to avoid critical choke points such as the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and MTNL junctions.
Drivers coming from the eastern suburbs via the BKC Connector can access the signal-free stretch beyond Avenue-5 and the SEBI building to reach Avenue-3 and the surrounding commercial complexes.
Authorities strongly recommend switching to public transport to avoid parking congestion, and advise delegates and workers to use the underground Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line), which offers a direct link to the BKC business district.
