Pakistani cricketers go viral for wearing Virat Kohli-branded boots at Women’s Asia Cup

Pakistan’s women cricketers have been at the center of a social media frenzy during the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup, but this time it’s not because of their performances. Several members of the Pakistan squad were spotted wearing footwear from one8, the sportswear brand co-founded by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli.

Left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu and right-arm batsman Eymaan Fatima were among the players who saw the boots in Pakistan’s match against Hong Kong on Monday. The pictures and videos quickly went viral, with fans pointing out the unusual sight of Pakistani cricketers wearing a brand closely associated with one of India’s biggest sporting icons. Meanwhile, Sandhu gave Pakistan plenty of celebrations on the field. She produced a sensational career record of 4-0-7-6helping Pakistan bowl out Hong Kong for 71 to complete a 72-run victory. Her spell also helped Pakistan seal a place in the semi-finals of the Asia Cup.

One8 has grown into a high performance sportswear brand including footwear, apparel and sports products. Agilitas, which brought the brand into its portfolio, describes one8 as a sportswear brand that was co-founded with Kohli. Kohli is also an investor in Agilitas, having invested Rs 40 crore in the platform.

Many players of the Pakistan women’s team wore it @one8world boots in the Asian Cup match.
I have the following questions
1. Products registered in India cannot be exported to pak, so this deal happened in Dubai? Where the matches are played
2. Why was I forced to do this? @one8world pic.twitter.com/GkVdg3BfUG— varun (@mystic_varunn) September 7, 2026

PAKISTAN REBOUND AT ASIA CUP AFTER INDIA’S DEFEAT

Pakistan endured a tough game against India earlier in the tournament, he was bowled out for just 55 before losing by seven wickets. However, they responded strongly against Hong Kong, scoring 143 for eight before Sandhu’s six-wicket haul completed a comprehensive victory.

Pakistan finished second in Group A with four points after winning two out of three matches to advance to the semi-finals where they will face Sri Lanka.

The tournament also saw disciplinary losses for two Pakistani players. Captain Fatima Sana was fined 10 per cent of her match fee and handed one demerit point after making a gesture towards the pavilion following Shafali Verma’s dismissal against India.

A day later, Gull Feroza was also fined 10 percent of her match fee and given one demerit point for showing dissent after conceding a wicket against Hong Kong. It was her second offense in 24 months.

Amid the disciplinary headlines and Pakistan’s title push, the sight of the team in Kohli’s one8 shoes added an unexpected punch to their Asia Cup campaign.
