On Monday (April 21, 2025), BJP accused the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi of the “traitor”, over his comments in the United States related to the Election Commission and accusations submitted in the prosecution of criminal proceedings in the national case Herald.
At a press conference, a spokesman for BJP and Sambit Member said Mr. Gandhi aimed at the election commission for frustration for ED indictment. “It’s an open and closed case of the mother and son’s prey … You’ll go to prison,” he said, pointing to Mr. Gandhi.
In the case of National Herald, he said that fake ads worth 38 Crore and false gifts of 18 crore were accepted and were requested fake rent. According to ED, the yield of 988 crore has a crime, Mr. Patra said.
“… Rahul Gandhi is a traitor not only because he goes to a foreign country and offends the country’s institution, undermines Indian democracy, is also a traitor because Crores embedded the country’s property through National Herald,” BJP said.
Failure
The BJP leader, who described Mr. Gandhi “politically unfit”, said, “A politically unfitped person always takes the crutches of false accusations to prove he is a leader.
He stated that the accusation of the ED was serious, he said in response that the congress side would try to create an atmosphere of riots in the country. “If they feel they can destroy the image of this great democracy by speaking outside the country, then they are on the wrong side of the line …,” said Mr. Patra, adding that it was a frustration of ED accusations that led Mr. Gandhi to “insult” Indian democracy in the US
Jharkhand’s vote
The BJP leader accused the leader of the Congress of the attempt to defame the election commission and stated that in the case of surveys of Maharashtra, Mr. Gandhi should clarify whether the congress and his ally Jharki Mukti Morch (JMM) should agree with the Commission because they won the Jharhand. He also asked Mr. Gandhi if the constitutional body was endangered when his sister, the leader of the Priyanka Gandhi Vadr, was elected to Lok Sabha from the constituent district of Wayanad in Kerala.
“In Lok Sabha’s elections in 2024, BJP won 240 seats and Congress got 99. Congress then described the results of his victory and defeat BJP. So was EC discarded?” he asked.
