Navya Andhra Teachers Association urges the government to reconstitute the Pay Revision Commission

Members of the Navya Andhra Teachers’ Association on Tuesday (September 8, 2026) said that the claim by a section of staff and teacher union leaders regarding the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) not yet being constituted in Andhra Pradesh, which was cited as the reason behind the delay in announcing the Interim Relief (IR), was incorrect.

In a statement, the association’s state president K. Harikrishna and general secretary M. Srinivasa Rao said that through GO Ms. No. 68, issued on July 12, 2023, the state government has officially constituted the 12th Pay Revision Commission and appointed former IAS officer Manmohan Singh as the Pay Revision Officer for the commission and also specified the terms of reference of the commission. Subsequently, the government, through Presidential Decree No. 21 of February 22, 2024, issued a regulation ensuring the personnel and administrative measures necessary for the functioning of the 12th Wage Review Commission.

They said that although the commissioner subsequently resigned, the commissioner’s resignation and the dissolution of the Salary Revision Commission were two separate matters. “If the government has dissolved the 12th Pay Revision Commission, it should publish the relevant government order and make it clear to the employees and teachers,” they demanded, adding that instead of starting the process of setting up a new 12th Pay Revision Commission, the government should continue with the Commission already set up through GO Ms. No. 68 and appoint a new commissioner immediately.

They also demanded that a specific deadline be fixed for the submission of the Wage Revision Commission report and that in view of the considerable delay that has already occurred, an interim financial measure should be announced immediately to provide relief to the staff and teachers.
