PV Sindhu competes against China’s Wang Zhi Yi, unseen, in the women’s singles badminton match during the BWF World Championships at the IGI Stadium in New Delhi. (PTI Photo) New Delhi: PV Sindhu will have almost her entire support team at the helm of her Asian Games medal campaign, with the sports ministry clearing the names of her personal physiotherapist Heera Mundluru and strength and conditioning coach Shreyasi Sanjay.Official sanction has also been given to the coaching staff Muhammad Irwansyah, who has been appointed as India’s women’s singles coach, but will mainly focus on Sindhu’s game and technique.Interestingly, Mundluru’s name was not recommended by the Badminton Association of India (BAI). However, this did little to stop the sanctioning bodies, who approved her inclusion and provided Sindhu with the support system she needs.Long jumper Shahnavaz Khan has also been sanctioned for his personal coach Bhupinder Singh, while Ancy Sojan will have Anoop Joseph in his side.In table tennis, former Indian player Soumyadeep Roy was cleared as coach for Payas Jain, Cinderella Das and Sutirtha Mukherjee, giving several medal hopefuls a familiar boost at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.
