Bihar News: Fire breaks out in Patna express parked at Sasaram station, entire bus gutted | Today’s news

The Sasaram-Patna fast passenger train caught fire on Monday morning while it was parked at platform number 6 of Bihar’s Sasaram railway station, Times Now reported. A preliminary investigation revealed that the cause was probably a short circuit in the bus. The situation was managed to be brought under control when the firemen immediately rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames.

AC Rajdhani express coach on fire

This happened a day after a fire broke out on the Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express. Train B-1 of train #12431 was gutted in the early hours of May 17. An AC coach of the Rajdhani Express was engulfed in flames in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district, railway officials told PTI.

West Central Railway of Kota Division said, “Fire was reported in Coach B-1 (near SLR end) of Train No. 12431 Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express between Luni Richha (LNR) and Vikramgarh Alot (VMA) at Km 729/02 (Loco/14 All-16 of theR Down) affected passengers in the R direction. There was no immediate injury or loss of passengers. nor the railway staff.

“The concerned B-1 coach has been disconnected from the rake. Railway staff and fire fighting officers have rushed to the spot. Train No. 12955 has been held up at Mahidpur Road (MEP). The section will be cleared soon. The cause of the fire is under investigation,” authorities added.

The fire reportedly broke out at 5:15 a.m. in a train coach carrying 68 passengers, said senior railway business manager Sourbah Jain. Emergency measures were quickly taken and the affected coach of the Kota Railway Division was disconnected from the rake to prevent further spread of the fire. In addition, the overhead electrical supply (OHE) was immediately shut down.

“All the passengers were deboarded from the train. None of the passengers sustained injuries,” railway PRO Ravinder Lakhar Kota was quoted as saying by PTI. Arrangements were made to accommodate passengers in other buses for the remaining journey to Kota. Another car was attached at Kota station to restore full capacity.

This fire disrupted the movement of several trains that were scheduled to run on the Mumbai-Delhi route, according to officials.

As part of the assistance and repairs, a van with railway personnel and equipment for repairing catenary lines and other parts went to the scene of the fire. However, the vehicle overturned on its way to Alot after the driver lost his balance when a cow suddenly strayed into the middle of the road. Five people were injured in the accident. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital from Shyamnagar in Ratlam and subsequently sent to Kota in Rajasthan.

In another fire reported on Sunday, Ashok Mill Compound located in Mumbai’s Dharavi area was gutted on Sunday.
