US-Iran peace deal LIVE: Gasoline and diesel prices are rising again! Fourth time in 2 weeks | Today’s news
U.S. oil prices fell to $92 a barrel as markets reacted to a potential deal between Iran and the United States, even as Donald Trump’s administration downplayed the chances of a deal with the Middle Eastern country. The dollar also fell at the start of Asian trading. Donald Trump told the media he would not rush into a deal with Iran as he faced growing domestic political pressure to end the nearly three-month-old conflict. The war has driven up fuel costs, with average US gasoline prices hitting their highest level since 2022 this month.
In an interview with Truth Social, Donald Trump wrote: “Negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner and I have informed my representatives not to rush a deal while it is on our side. The embargo will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, ratified and signed.” The US president also said that both sides should take time to come to an agreement properly.
Meanwhile, as Donald Trump refuses to rush a deal, there have been reports of disagreements between him and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who now wants to attack Iran.
