Backlogs piling up
CubicTree’s latest dataset, shared with Mint by its CEO and founder Hitesh Jirwala, shows a significant backlog of arbitration-related cases in Indian courts. As of September 2, 2026, there were 289,525 pending cases out of a total of 729,761 in the dataset. Of these, 440,236 cases were liquidated, representing a liquidation rate of 60.3%.
