
Mondo duplantis accumulated praise on the Indian javelin star Neer Chopra and called him a huge inspiration for him. Neera has become a super -star for India in Javelin, because he won gold and silver at the last two Olympics in Tokyo and Paris.
On the other hand, duplantis has become a legend in a pole vault, Breaking the World Record several times. When he talked to PTI in an exclusive conversation, Duplantis recalled the interaction he had with the young Neera, and said the Indian athlete remains the same nice and caring guy.
Duplantis said that Neeray is really talented and his work for sport in India is amazing.
“Actually, we interact with quite a bit, and we could also communicate with him before the Tokyo Olympics and after the Olympic Games, when he was able to have the great virus and inspire all India, which was cool,” said a 25 -year -old man who was nominated for the Sportsman of 2025 Laureus World Award.
“He was still the same guy, the same nice, caring guy, as I met years ago. We were at the same competition for the first time as the 2016 World Championship, and exploded there on the scene. It’s a huge, huge inspiration.”
“I love what he’s doing is a really talented and great athlete, and what he does for sport in India is a really amazing thing.”
Duplantis wants to compete in India
Duplantis said he wanted to compete in India instead of making only a polite visit to the country.
“I would like to try, the goal is, like Mandel Classic and my own pole safe competition I have in Sweden, it would be really nice to branch and start different areas and different places,” he said.
“It certainly doesn’t have to be just in Europe, I think it could be in India, that would be amazing, I would like, I was still not, unfortunately, as the schedule works, there are a lot of my travel, are competitions and what doesn’t.”
“So it would be best to compete in India and be able to show the Indian people what I can do, and the most entertaining thing I do is definitely jump, not only to speak, that is, so yeah, I would like to come and jump and experience culture, that would be a big list of buckets,” said Duplantis
