₹15.71 crore road work progressing fast in Ponnur constituency: Pemmasani
Several road development works estimated at ₹ 15.71 crore, started with the support of the Union and state governments, are progressing rapidly across Ponnur constituency, Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar said on Saturday.
Mr. Chandra Sekhar said the government was bringing several crores of rupees in development funds to the constituency and that ₹ 2 crore of the ₹ 5 crore annual MP funds available to it had been allocated to Ponnur. He said central funds had been secured for bridge projects in Guntur and several tanks were being developed in collaboration with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
Mr Chandra Sekhar along with Ponnur MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar inaugurated and laid foundation stones for road works at Kopparavur and Anumarlapudi in Pedakakani Mandal, Sekuru and Thotlapal in Chebrolu Mandal and Doppalapudi and Jadavalli in Ponnur Mandal.
He said that the issues related to 22A plots have also been resolved and that fertilizer distribution has been streamlined using OTP based technology and system to avoid artificial shortage.
Mr. Narendra said that the villagers had repeatedly sought better roads and that the work was delayed as it involved heavy expenditure and required completion of various formalities.
He assured that the repair of the bridge damaged in the accident will be completed within a month and the work on the new bridge will also be accelerated.
