‘Reimagining Keralam’ workshop at IIM-Kozhikode concludes

“Reimagining Keralam”, a two-day residential retreat for the Kerala Council of Ministers, being held at the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) from August 4, concluded on Saturday afternoon.

The second day discussed the proposed mission of ‘Silver Economy’, strengthening the state’s fiscal and economic base, entrepreneurship and skill development, making Kerala a center of excellence in higher education, managing generational change and making the state a global brand. Deepa Sethi and Priya Nair Rajeev led the session on ‘The Silver Economy’. Mridul Kumar Saggar and Vipin V. Veetil participated in the session on Economic Sector. Ashutosh Sarkar and Nycil George were part of the ‘Skill Development’ section and S. Sreejesh, M. Devaprasad, Ankur Jain and Silpa Satheesh also presented their ideas.

IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee and Anadakuttan B. Unnithan shared their views in the latest academic session on ‘Generational Change and Elevating Kerala as a Global Brand’. The ministers’ photo session was held at the ‘Arjuna Path’, a scenic walkway featuring the legendary warrior from the Mahabharata, and Chief Minister VD Satheesan planted an Ashoka tree sapling there. The Ministers later visited a traditional style ‘Gurukulam’ classroom.

The valedictory ceremony was held in the afternoon where the Chief Minister and other Ministers presented their certificates to Mr. Chatterjee. The meeting generated ideas for new initiatives in economic growth, fiscal stability, health and welfare, climate resilience, entrepreneurship, skill development, higher education and Kerala’s global standing, all while promoting a people-centred model of state development. It also served as a platform for dialogue aimed at strengthening the administrative system to make it more efficient, people-centric and future-ready.
