The victim has been identified as Yamini Krishna Lal Yadav. Her husband, who is an accused, has been identified as 41-year-old Krishna Lal Yadav. The couple were the parents of two young children.
What happened?
According to the report, Yadav returned home from work and asked Yamini to prepare food for him and their children. Police said Yamini, who was preparing for a dance class at their apartment building, refused to cook.
The disagreement reportedly escalated into a violent argument.
Police said Krishna Lal, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, assaulted Yamini on her neck and stomach. The violence took place in front of their two children at their residence.
Yamini complained of severe pain in her throat and abdomen after the attack. After she asked her husband to get the medicine, Yadav went to the pharmacy but returned home empty-handed after finding the shop closed.
Yamini’s condition is said to have later deteriorated, with swelling in his abdomen due to suspected serious internal injuries. She was then taken to hospital, where she died during treatment.

However, a post-mortem report revealed serious injuries, including a broken collarbone and severe intestinal damage, raising suspicions. As a result, the police arrested the husband after registering a case of murder against him.
Yamini’s brother said the family initially believed she had died under tragic circumstances until an autopsy revealed signs of strangulation and serious injuries.
Abdominal injuries, strangulation and more
The deceased Yamini’s brother told the media, as quoted by NDTV, “We were in Mumbai when we received a phone call informing us that my sister had died. The post-mortem report revealed that she had been strangled and suffered abdominal injuries. It turned out that she had been attacked in the stomach. Based on the findings, the police immediately registered an FIR and arrested Helaw, my brother Krishna-0. for murder.”
“They also used to have arguments, like those that happen between many married couples. My sister used to tell me about the arguments. I asked her to talk or let us intervene, but she said, ‘Please, let it go. It’s a family matter. If you say something, I’ll have to face more problems later.’ Since she asked us not to interfere, we said nothing. We thought it was normal marital disputes, but now this has happened,” he added.
A police investigation is currently underway.
