DMK president MK Stalin claims that there was a political motive behind the DVAC raids on KN Nehru

DMK President MK Stalin on Saturday (September 5, 2026) said that the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) raided former minister KN Nehru’s residence for political reasons.

In a message on social media, he said the raids were carried out while the Supreme Court and Assembly sessions were hearing the case.

He said the people of Tamil Nadu were aware of “horse-trading” by the ruling party, which he said involved making members of other political parties resign as MLAs and inducting them into the ruling party on the assembly premises. According to him, an FIR is pending in connection with this issue.

“The raids were carried out by the government to divert attention when Indian democracy is heading for a dark period. The DMK and Mr. Nehru will not be intimidated by these acts. We will attack them legally,” he said.
