South Africa 228/4 in 20.0 Overs | Namibia vs. South Africa 6th T20I Live Score: Gerhard Erasmus’ must-win side to book place in final as Proteas stand in the way

NAM vs RSA Live: Namibia face a do-or-die battle against South Africa in the sixth and final league match of the T20I Tri-Series in Windhoek, with the hosts needing a win to book their place in Sunday’s final.

Namibia won the toss and opted to field first in the hope that their decision will pay off in the next crucial encounter against South Africa.

The hosts started the tournament on a high, defeating South Africa by 18 runs in the opening match. The star of the contest was Jan Frylinck who scored 60 as Namibia added 163 before restricting their opponents to secure a memorable victory.

However, Namibia’s campaign has since lost steam. They suffered a defeat against Zimbabwe in their previous game on Thursday, leaving them with no margin for error in their final league game.

South Africa, meanwhile, responded impressively after their initial setback. They bounced back with two convincing wins over Zimbabwe, including 43 in their last match, and will now look to complete their turnaround by sealing their place in the finals.

Namibia needs another upset
Gerhard Erasmus’ party knows exactly what is at stake. Victory over South Africa will send Namibia into Sunday’s final, where they will face South Africa again.

The home side will take confidence from their performance in the opening match when they produced a disciplined bowling effort to fend off a competitive side. Frylinck’s contribution with the bat was crucial on this occasion and Namibia will be hoping their experienced players rise to the occasion again.

Captain Erasmus has been among Namibia’s leading players in the tournament, while Frylinck and the rest of the top order will have the responsibility of providing a solid platform.

Brevis leads the charges of South Africa
South Africa have several players in excellent form, with Dewald Brevis standing out as the top scorer of the tournament.

Brevis amassed 191 runs from three innings while Lhuan-dre Pretorius contributed 125 runs. Namibia will need to find a way to contain the pair if they are to cause another upset.

The South African bowling attack also performed consistently. Duan Jansen and Brad Evans have taken eight wickets each, while Bjorn Fortuin is close behind with seven scalps.
