Heavy rains lash Delhi-NCR, flight operations at IGI affected; IMD issues red alert | Today’s news
Delhi and its adjoining areas experienced a rainy afternoon on Friday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has updated the weather warning for the capital from yellow to red. Heavy rainfall is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms.
Heavy rain in Delhi-NCR, flights delayed
Flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport were affected by heavy rainfall, ANI reported. Domestic flights arriving in Delhi were delayed, including flights from Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Port Blair.
Along with Delhi, Uttar Pradesh’s Noida and Ghaziabad are also under orange alert by the IMD, according to the latest update on the weather department’s website around 3.30 pm.
However, Haryana’s Gurugram had no specific warning at that time.
