The Sakleshpur rural police registered a case against a Bengaluru-based realtor for allegedly trying to run over on-duty police personnel, including a probationary IPS officer, on the Sakleshpur-Hanablu road on Saturday (May 16).
A case was registered against Kiran (31), a real estate agent based in Rachenahalli, Bengaluru. Shubham S. Pawar, a probationary IPS officer in-charge of Sakleshpur rural station, was on duty along with support staff at around 5.30 pm on the day the incident took place.
When the staff signaled Kiran to stop the vehicle at the officer’s direction, he allegedly accelerated and attempted to ram into them. The staff narrowly escaped and managed to stop the vehicle, but Kiran pushed the staff aside and sped away.
The police traced the vehicle through the Motor Crime Tracking and Notification System (MCTNS) and registered a case based on the statement of Civil Police Constable Chethan. Kiran was charged with attempted murder, among other offences.
